Because getting a leg up makes a huge difference.

Where do I start? When you get a site with Bright Coconut, your site is set up for you. Plugins are configured. Settings are optimized. It’s a turn-key solution that will save you oodles of time.

And yet, it may still leave you thinking, “What do I do first?” Or, “How do I get my old site over into my new one?”

Yes, there are video tutorials that will show you how to use everything on your new site. And yes, you could always ask questions in the Support system.

But sometimes, that’s not enough.

Enter: The QuickStart.

QuickStart classes are small groups that will, in three short teleclasses, get your mind around what you need to do to get your site up and running.

Here’s what’s covered:

Class #1 : What’s on your site?

We’ll talk about how to structure your site, what pages you need, and how to think with your readers in mind. You’ll get a clear sense of how your site’s navigation will look, and how people will find what they need as they find their way through your site. And if you have an old site hanging around, you’ll find out how to move your content over into your new one in a way that works for you.

We’ll also talk about copywriting for the web, and how it’s radically different from other forms of writing. This will include thoughts about effective structure, voice, and presentation.

Class #2 : Customization

Making sure that your site expresses your business’ unique flavor is important. It helps your website stand out in a crowd, and it does wonders to convey your business’ style to the world.

The good news is, your site probably looks pretty darn good out of the box. The other good news is that things like:

  • adding a logo,
  • using photos, illustrations, and other artwork,
  • tweaking your typography, and
  • playing with colors

are easier than you think. And in this class, I’ll show you what kinds of changes you can make easily, and how to play freely without worrying about breaking anything, or turning your site into something that looks like a three-year-old got a hold of it.

Class #3 : Marketing/Outreach

You can have the hottest site on the block, but if no one’s seeing it, you can easily feel like the kid who through the party that no one came to.

In this class, we’ll talk about marketing and social media, and how to make your site easy to share with others. We’ll also cover your options for keeping in touch with your readers, such as subscriptions, rss, email, and more.

Sounds cool… when’s the next one?

The next class is set to start on July 21st.

Sounds cool… how do I sign up?

Come get some help, my friend! In the Member Area inside, you’ll find a page with a sign-up form to get registered. It’s totally free, too, which you’ve gotta admit is pretty cool. And, in case you can’t make it at the time of the class, I’ll be recording it and making it available for you afterwards.

Class size is limited, though, because I want to be able to answer questions you may have right there and then. So if this is something that sounds valuable to you, I suggest getting in there and signing up as soon as humanly possible. Because once the bus leaves the station, there’s no getting on until the next one comes along.

See you inside!
